Our Process

Customer Folder: I create a customer folder to hold your files. Once paid, I deliver this to you either electronically using Dropbox, or I can do so by physical delivery on a drive if you are within 50 miles of my home, but there is a fee to cover gas and time.

We try to streamline the process of getting your project done by using a 3 step method:

EXPLORE
• 3 Initial design directions, one direction is chosen.
• 3 Proofs are made from the chosen direction.

This can repeat 1 time.
Additional explores are purchasable at $15 for one Proof.

DRAFT
• A draft is put forward based on a chosen Proof.

This can repeat 3 times.
Additional explores are purchasable at $15 for one Draft.

FINAL PROOF & PAYMENT • Once a Draft is accepted a Final Proof is sent that should look exactly like what you will be given after payment.

A standard process looks like this:
• Client meeting to discuss the project, its lifecycle, and end-game goals for it.
• Focusing the direction of the project by deciding type face treatment and graphic needs.
• Up to 3 free proofs to narrow down final direction. You can purchase more proofs, of course.
Minor changes, such as fixing a typo or correcting a few lines of information are not charged.
• A final collection of your project’s production-ready work and elements for future-proofing later uses.
• We are happy to work through your choice of production house.

KEEP IN MIND…

FILE STORAGEKEEP YOUR OWN COPY OF YOUR FILES• We are not responsible for storing your file. We will keep your files for a few years, however digital information is susceptible to damage. You need to keep a copy of what we give you for your own files.

CLIENT PROVIDED ELEMENTS • We are not responsible for your elements lacking in proper resolution, or dimension. We are happy to work with what you give us to the best of our abilities, but if you’re handing us a 8.5×11″ image at base resolution and want us to blow up onto a 24×48″ banner it just isn’t going to look good. We need the highest quality elements to make a high quality product for you.

TYPEFACES/FONTS • Typefaces that require a license to use must be owned by you for you to use them in your projects. If you do not already own the typeface we will help you through the process of licensing it. Google has plenty of free typefaces to choose from. We highly recommend using their site. Free font sites that are not Google are hit-and-miss on individual typeface legalities and many are pirated.

GRAPHICS/VIDEO/AUDIO • You must be the owner of any licensing for stock elements. We can use them to build your project, but for you to use them for your benefit you must be the holder of the license.

PRODUCTION DELAYS • We cannot be held responsible for delays at the production house. Likewise, if you need multiple proofs it can push the project’s timeline back. We will not be responsible for delays that happen because we are making your requested changes.

ERRORS AFTER APPROVAL • We will not be held accountable for errors on approved and final proofs. We always do our best to refine every detail, but once in a while things are over looked. This is the reason we give 3 free proofs and allow for unlimited proofs at additional costs. Be sure you look over the work before giving approval. Keep in mind, most production houses will require you to pay full price to redo a project. Be diligent.

COLORS • The colors of a screen are different then colors that come out of ink jets and laser printers. They are also not perfectly true for vinyl colors. The gamma of different screens can modify the colors as well. Please be aware that colors will slightly shift from medium to medium unless you use a Pantone color (for print). Pantone colors are expensive, and only big production houses can afford their inks. Keep in mind that the cost of production will go up with them.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
& OWNERSHIP

You will own the right to reproduce your project. We will retain the right to showcase our work in our portfolio. These are nonnegotiable terms. Part of the pricing of your project is the intellectual rights to your work so you can paint the world with it, and modify or make derivatives of it.
